As the Preservation Trust expands its commitment to highlighting and preserving under-served historic neighborhoods with a rich architectural heritage, we invite you to join us for a lecture by Brent Leggs, Senior Field Officer for the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Maryland, Harvard Loeb Fellow, and the author of Preserving African American Historic Places.

His talk will take place in the distinctive Modernist building of the Dixwell Avenue United Church of Christ. Founded in 1820, Dixwell Congregational is the oldest African American UCC church in the world. The Church serves a thriving congregation that actively seeks to preserve both the building and its cultural importance for New Haven.
