Auction to Benefit the Trust

The Yale University Art Gallery has recently donated vintage furnishings from Swartwout and Street Halls — the former home of the History of Art department — to the New Haven Preservation Trust.

The Trust has been granted permission to sell, auction, or recycle the contents of these buildings, currently being emptied in anticipation of a major gallery expansion, with all proceeds to benefit the organization. To that end, the Trust has contracted with Nadeau’s Auction Gallery, Inc. in Windsor, Connecticut to sell a number of the better-quality furnishings. An auction of some of those items will be held on January 31st.
