Dorthula (Dottie) Green

Dottie retired from Unified School District 1 after a 30-year career in education as school teacher and principal. A life member of the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW), an ‘organization of organizations’ whose mission is to lead, advocate for, and empower women of African descent, their families, and communities, she is president of the Greater New Haven Section of NCNW, which founded the African American Women’s Summit. She is active in the Dwight Central Management Team and supports the Friends of Dwight and Friends of Kensington Park. She has served boards including the Union Temple Church, United Way of Greater New Haven, Fellowship Place, and the Advisory Board of the Dixwell Community House, and the Community Healing Network. She lives in an 1869 Italianate in the Dwight Community.
