37 Woodland Street - Partial Demolition

Demolition notice sent 2/26/24. Notice states that the roof will be removed to add more living space to the third floor. New dormers and roof will be installed. Work has begun despite the 90 day delay requirement for demolitions or partial demolitions on historic properties.

This 1895 Queen Anne building, known as the J. P. Phillips Tenant House, is a contributing structure in the Winchester Repeating Arms National Historic District.

714 Quinnipiac - Demolition of Building

Demolition notice sent 2/29/24. Notice states that building structure is not sound and will be demolished.

This 1834 Greek Revival house, known as the Solomon Bradley House, is a contributing structure in the Quinnipiac Avenue National Historic District.

138-140 West Rock Ave - Partial Demolition

Demolition notice was sent 2/22/24. Notice states that the porch is unstable and will be demolished and replaced.

This 1916 Colonial Revival building, known as the Griffith/Greer Development Houses, is contributing to the Suburban Westville State Historic District.

256 Whitney Avenue (Wright Lab) - Partial Demolition

Demolition notice sent 2/27/24. Notice states that parts of the lab (both above and underground) will be demolished for a new addition to be added.

Building is on the Modernist Historic Resources Inventory and designed by Office of Douglas Orr; Orr, DeCossy, Winder and Associates.

67 Winchester Avenue - Demolition

Demolition notice is expected to be sent soon.

Building is contributing to the Winchester Repeating Arms Historic District. This small, workingman’s house was built in 1885 in the Victorian Gothic Revival style and typical of the houses built along lower Winchester Avenue during that time period.
