Connecticut boasts some of the most distinctive architecture in New England, from Colonial churches and Modernist houses to refurbished nineteenth-century factories. Together, these buildings tell the stories of those who made our cities, towns and farms. They form a shared history that brings communities together.

In his talk at the New Haven Free Public Library, Christopher Wigren will highlight some of the 100 Connecticut places featured in his book, Connecticut Architecture: Stories of 100 Places, and the people who built or inhabited them. For this talk, he will focus on sites in or near New Haven as important elements of our diverse local heritage.

An architectural historian and Deputy Director of the Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation, Christopher Wigren has written articles and essays for the Hartford Courant, the New Haven Register, and Connecticut Explored magazine.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing after the talk.
