Join New Haven Preservation Trust and Becker + Becker for a preview tour of the Hotel Marcel, currently under construction in the Pirelli Building in New Haven, Connecticut. The Brutalist building, recently listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was designed by Marcel Breuer in 1967 and completed in 1970. It originally housed administrative offices for the Armstrong Rubber Company. The Hotel Marcel will be a model for adaptive reuse and sustainability, addressing both historic preservation and economic development opportunities. The 165-room hotel is expected to be complete in Winter 2021 and will include a restaurant, gallery, and meeting space.
Please note this is a tour of an active construction site and will require hard hats, which will be provided on-site. The tour will include walking up and down stairs; please wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes.
Registration for both the 10:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. tours is now filled; and we are no longer taking names for the waiting list.
