Bringing together an array of diverse materials including paintings, drawings, literary manuscripts, mineral samples, and memorabilia, the exhibition highlights the nineteenth-century critic's impact in his own time and his enduring significance today.

Courtney Skipton Long, Acting Assistant Curator of Prints and Drawings, and Victoria Hepburn, PhD candidate in the Department of the History of Art at Yale, will conduct a tour of the exhibition, focusing on objects that display Ruskin's interest in architecture and historic preservation.

Following the tour, Channing Harris and members of the New Haven Preservation Trust's Board will join the curators in a discussion about Ruskin's influence on New Haven architecture and his legacy within the context of present-day preservation discourse and practice.

This event is open to NHPT MEMBERS ONLY.

Registration is required by Thursday, October 31 and is on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited to 20 participants.
